Shake your phone in case of an emergency.
Now you can be assured that you can call for help easily in case you find yourself in an emergency. All you need to do is shake your smartphone or tablet for a few seconds and Shake ICE will send an SMS (text) message to your emergency contacts instantly.
Not only that but if you have Location ON, the app will also send your current location via SMS. To send your current street address, just be sure to be connected to the Internet along with enabling Location on your device.
Unlike some other similar apps in the market, Shake ICE will not give false alarms i.e. "crying wolf". (In the rare event that this happens, please let us know immediately. We will try to correct the problem and give you an update.)
You need not open Shake ICE for it to work. Shake ICE will run in the background undetected. Anytime you need to alert your contacts simply wave your phone or tablet, and the app will do the rest.
On the main screen you can see the following -
1. Your current location (updated once every minute). This will be your street address (approximate) if you have enabled Location and are also connected to the Internet, or you Geo location in latitude and longitude if you have turned on Location but are not connected to the Internet.
2. The G-force currently experienced by your device. Watch how the value changes if you are riding in a roller coaster or a fast elevator.
Setting up the app
Step 1 - Select the persons (contacts) you would like to alert in case of an emergency. You may add as many contacts as you wish.
Step 2 - Test the set up. You might want to select just one contact to test. Shake your device vigorously, in wide sweeps for about 3-4 seconds (or until the device vibrates). The app will send two SMSs to the contact(s) you selected in Step 1: 1) an SMS with an alert message, and 2) an SMS with your approximate location.
Step 3 - Close the app and use the device as usual. If Steps 1 and 2 were completed correctly, you have finished setting up the app. The app will now run in the background for as long as the device is on.
Note - The app will send your location only if you have enabled Location via settings. If you have enabled Location, but are not connected to the Internet, then the app will send the your Geo location (i.e. latitude and longitude of your location). If you are also connected to the Internet, then the app will send your street address instead.
Launch the app to see your current location.
If you are in an emergency situation and want to alert your emergency contacts, just shake your phone or tablet as you did in Step 2.
Please rate the app and leave your comments and suggestions on how we could give you a great user experience and your money's worth.
STAY SAFE.
